Mayo Clinic Suicide Prevention Video

This video put out by the Mayo Clinic is an excellent resource for parents to learn about some of the things to watch out for with your children and how to respond to some of their actions and words.  It also Includes suggestions for what to say to a teen who may be at risk for suicide and ways to keep them safe. SAFE UT APP

The Utah State Board of Education is encouraging students and their parents to download the SAFE UT APP, which was created by the University of Utah Neuropsychiatric Institute (UNI). The Safe UT Crisis Text and Tip Line is a statewide service that provides real-time crisis intervention to youth through texting and a confidential tip program - right from your smartphone.

More information about this app can be found on the following website.

Crisis Intervention and Hospital Diversion Services

The UNI team has teamed up with Salt Lake County and OptumHealth SLCo to provide free crisis response programs.  Attached is a flyer containing contact numbers to various mental health crisis/non crisis services provided by this team.

We hope this information will help you facilitate any crisis situations you may encounter.  We hope to see you at the  parent/teen  information meeting featuring guest speaker Dr. Greg Hudnall on April 4th at 6:00 PM in the Skyline Auditorium.  Please mark your calendars now.

Battle of the Bands

Battle of the Bands - We think this is the first time ever that Wasatch has a band made up of all 9th graders who will be competing in the PTSA Battle of the Bands.  The competition is for 9-12 graders only, so this will also be the last time Wasatch will have a band competing.  The competition is Thursday, March 23 at 6:30 pm at Olympus High.  The cost is $5.00.  Please come out to support these students and get ready for some fun!
