Lockdown Drill

Last Thursday, Feb. 22 we conducted a Lockdown Drill in school.  The students did a great job with the procedures we have in place.  The biggest thing we want to teach the students help in keeping the school safe is first, not letting adults into the school through other doors besides the front doors.  Parents we are asking you to be sure to stop by the front office before entering the school to get a sticker/name tag pass.  I have asked teachers to address any adult without a pass or badge.  Secondly, download the Safe-UT app on to their digital device.  This is a state-wide app with real people on the other side to help students with threats, bullying and suicide.  Lastly, we are asking students to inform adults if they hear anything about possible school violence.  If you research all the school shootings, many or all could have been prevented if someone who knew, informed authorities.  In almost all instances someone knew about the plan or that it was going to happen.  We investigate all tips and information as thoroughly as we can to make sure we do all we can to prevent these terrible incidents.  Together we can make a difference to keep each other safe.
